Karis Call, CPA, is a Shareholder at Rubino and leads the firm’s nonprofit audit practice. Since beginning her accounting career in 2011, she has specialized in providing audit and assurance services to tax-exempt organizations, helping nonprofit leaders maintain strong financial oversight, regulatory compliance, and transparency for stakeholders.
Karis has extensive experience performing financial statement audits, Single Audits conducted under Uniform Guidance, as well as review and compilation engagements for nonprofit organizations and entities receiving federal funding.
In her role, Karis evaluates entity-wide and process-level internal controls, identifies audit risk areas, and works closely with nonprofit leadership teams to address complex accounting and compliance issues. She emphasizes clear communication and collaboration throughout the audit process, helping organizations understand regulatory requirements and implement best practices that align with federal regulations and state governing laws.
Karis also provides strategic oversight and mentorship to Rubino’s audit professionals while helping nonprofit organizations strengthen internal controls and financial reporting processes.
Karis began her career at Rubino as an audit associate and has grown into a leadership role within the firm’s assurance practice. She values working closely with nonprofit clients and connecting with their missions beyond the financial statements, often supporting their work by attending events and engaging with the communities they serve.
